Dressed to Kill...Who?

So I got myself new glasses and spent a lot of money on new clothes, so that I can look mature and in style. I thought I looked okay, and most importantly, I was comfortable. Well, my mother came home from the wedding and told me that a friend of hers said that I looked great, but if I get lenses and wear high heels, it would be even better.

Now, high heels give me blisters, and I'm not ready to commit to the amount of time that lenses take to take care of. Why can't I just be myself, and then I'll be able to marry someone who appreciates the real me?

We single girls need to dress to kill. Who are we killing here?

Don't worry. People like to pinpoint reasons why so-and-so is not married. That's NOT the reason.

Your bashert will have no problem with you wearing flats and glasses. There's doing hishtadlus...and there's making yourself crazy for no good reason...
Just be yourself. He's out there somewhere. In the right time, nothing in the world will stop him from finding you. May it be very soon!

who would it be better for?
do what's best for you. if you can't wear high heels, just dont. you anyway want to give across as being who you are, not dressing like someone else.

Firstly, I LOVE your title. Awesome. :-)

Also, my theory is that if a guy wants to date me only because I have made xy and z change then....whats the point? He doesn't want to date me, he wants to date xyz.

HS, you're totally right. We all like to play the blame game. Why can't we do our best and leave the rest up to the One Who's pulling the strings?

TOL, it's better for the shadchanim. At least this way, they can say that it's not their fault I'm not married, it's because...

SD, thanks! So do I! If he marries XYZ, and that's not me, then I don't think the marriage will last unless I actually become XYZ.
